Ground-Gas Solutions is the UK's leading environmental consultancy specialising in continuous ground-gas data capture, analysis and interpretation to inform risk assessment and remedial design. All of the staff have experience of correctly utilising and maintaining the full range of gas monitoring equipment including GasClam®, the cutting edge, continuous ground-gas monitoring device.
GGS's market leading position has been confirmed by its appointment by Cuadrilla, the UK's first shale gas exploration company, to develop and undertake continuous environmental monitoring at all of its Lancashire sites. This work is designed to provide evidence that the company's environmental management systems are working effectively and to provide early warning of fugitive incidents if they were to occur.
GGS staff also have experience of research into new technologies and works closely with the University of Manchester and others to develop new techniques in continuous ground-gas monitoring through ongoing research. The companies research into high frequency (continuous) ground-gas monitoring, using the GasClam®, overcomes much of the uncertainty associated with conventional 'spot' data which is characterised by poor temporal resolution. Continuous data provides reduced uncertainty and greater confidence in the gas regime at a site. The result is faster and more cost effective designs that avoid overly conservative assumptions. This service is increasingly required by regulators and provides confidence to operators, the local community and interested third parties.
GGS uses the unique GasClam® in-borehole monitoring device alongside conventional technologies to find solutions to a variety of issues. Browse our clients and services pages to find out how we can help.
