Art in garment made in France with savoir-faire
Created in Berlin in 2012, the brand DEMEURE is a high-end French ready-to-wear label combining art and fashion created by Charlotte Cazal, an artist who has chosen the garment as her medium of choice. In 2013, Demeure won the GRAND PRIX MAISONS DE MODE, integrated the association and settled its first shop/workshop in the historic heart of the textile industry next to the Museum La Piscine, in the North of France.
Collaborating with artists, Demeure creates collections of wearable piece of art making a point of honouring fabric digital printing imagine from the contemporary imagery and made in its own Atelier. This new craftmanship, combining new technology and and handcraft brings a particular sensitivity to the garment in which lies Demeure's touch.
Its specificity: an hybrid approach between avant-garde and classicism, modernity and tradition.
The Demeure's collections are conceived and made in small series exclusively in France according to the values of the brand.
These associated principles give birth to a rare and exclusive garment seducing through clearly defined codes and honouring art, craftsmanship and French heritage. A brand that has created a soul around stories, products vectors of emotions oriented towards the present and towards a tomorrow.
Demeure is driven by a cohesive and dynamic team, with atypical profiles. At its core a duo that works together since 20 years, composed by Charlotte Cazal and Julie Armenaud. But beyond the limits of the company, Demeure is the cradle of a creative community and a tribune where events and exhibitions are a tribute to art and crafts.
